Description
Med-Trans Corporation seeks a Helicopter Pilot to support Emergency Services air medical transport operations. In this safety-first, mission-driven role, you will conduct timely, IFR/VFR helicopter flights for critical care patients, ensuring strict adherence to FAA regulations and Med-Trans procedures. You’ll collaborate closely with medical and dispatch teams, manage risk in dynamic environments, and maintain aircraft readiness. Med-Trans offers robust training, professional growth, and the opportunity to serve diverse communities on life-saving missions nationwide.Conduct safe, timely helicopter flights for emergency and interfacility medical transports
Operate aircraft in compliance with FAA regulations, company SOPs, and safety standards
Perform thorough pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight inspections and documentation
Assess weather, terrain, and operational risks, making go/no-go decisions
Coordinate with medical crew, dispatch, and ground agencies for efficient missions
Maintain precise flight logs, navigation, and communication with ATC and dispatch
Support a safety-first culture, participating in safety briefings and risk management programs
Participate in recurrent training, simulations, and proficiency checks
Ensure aircraft cleanliness, security, and mission readiness
Represent Med-Trans professionally when interacting with hospital and EMS partners
IFR and VFR helicopter operations
Rotorcraft flight planning and navigation
Weather analysis and risk assessment
Crew Resource Management (CRM)
Radio communications with ATC and dispatch
Emergency and abnormal procedure management
Night vision and low-light flight operations
Use of aviation navigation and avionics systems (GPS/FMS)
Aircraft performance and weight-and-balance calculations
Technical documentation and flight log completion

FAA Commercial Rotorcraft-Helicopter Certificate
FAA Instrument Rating – Helicopter
Current FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate (or higher)
Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) – Rotorcraft preferred
Minimum rotor-wing flight hour requirement (per Med-Trans policy)
Night and IFR operations experience
Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) experience preferred
Terrain and weather risk management training
Crew Resource Management (CRM) training
No significant FAA violations or incidents
