Position Overview

The Inspection Supervisor is responsible for supervising all inspection activities performed at Honolulu station by their shift team.  Actively supervises inspection to ensure safe and reliable aircraft for commercial operation.  Promotes a safety conscious work force to ensure the wellbeing of our employees.  Collaborates with other departments in an effort to continuously improve our performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees maintenance quality control inspectors
  • Lead, coaches and manages inspection team providing opportunities for professional growth
  • Manage shift coverage and time accounting
  • Ensure adequate levels of training are provided to Inspectors to enable work to the highest standards
  • Responsible for providing and maintaining required tooling and equipment to perform inspection requirements    
  • Provide inspector override and technical conflict resolution
  • Provide technology assessment for work requirements
  • Required Inspection Item (RII) determination
  • Develops and administrates department budget
  • Oversight of Inspectors requires flexible work schedule to include some evening, nights, or early morning shift work
  • Other duties as assigned

***DOT Regulation, 14 CFR Part 120 Subpart E 120.105-120.109 identifies this position as performing safety sensitive functions. Prior to any offer of employment or transfer into this position you will be required to submit to a DOT Pre-employment drug test for evidence of Marijuana, Cocaine, Opiates, Phencyclidine (PCP), and Amphetamines or a metabolite of those drugs.



Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • High school Diploma or Equivalent
  • FAA Aircraft and Powerframe (A&P) license is required
  • 1 year of inspection experience in commercial aviation required
  • 5 year’s experience with military/commercial aircraft
  • 3 years of Supervisory experience in maintenance or inspection required
  • Valid driver’s license and passport
  • Must be familiar with aircraft inspection programs and MSG-3 aircraft maintenance program development philosophies 
  • Requires experience and knowledge with Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) techniques
  • Must be familiar with Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Must have received the COVID Vaccine by date of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5 or more years experience with FAR 121 aircraft
  • B717, B787, A321 and A330 experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and operational business skills
  • Leadership ability with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous management experience overseeing work group covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Experience with building and maintaining a budget
  • Strong computer skills with Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat etc. preferred
