GENERAL SUMMARY: OSUIT's Economic Development & Training Center invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor for non-credit courses in aerospace industry and should possess skills and knowledge in the following areas: aerospace engineering topics/terms, aircraft inspections, airworthiness, military specifications, logistics and resources, and contract vehicles. Successful candidates will have at least three to five years of industry experience and the desire to teach adult learners. Additionally, candidates must possess knowledge of curriculum/content development.

Classes will be taught in the OKC area and may also be taught in Northeast Oklahoma.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and provide them to administration when appropriate.
  • Assist in course scheduling and the development of course content and curriculum.
  • Willingly spend the time necessary to accomplish assigned tasks and responsibilities.
  • Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, objectives, assignments, and pre- and post-assessments.
  • Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with industry representatives and partners.
  • Design interactive, engaging, technology-enriched and applications-focused student learning experiences.
  • Develop course content/curriculum that engages adult learners.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline from accredited college or university.
  • Evidences a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior.
  • Minimum of three to five years related work experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed in the job description.
  • Possess the knowledge and ability to develop content/curriculum which focuses on the topics outlined in the General Summary section of this document.
  • Possess the knowledge and the ability to develop content/curriculum that can be taught in-person and online.
  • Possess the ability to operate effectively in politically sensitive environments, be comfortable with ambiguity and adaptable to change.
  • Advanced computer skills: word processing, spreadsheets, electronic communications, and the ability to use specific software associated with the position is necessary.
  • Ability to apply wide range of technology skills involving databases and Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrates strong, adaptive, and flexible organizational skills and leadership abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to author and deliver oral presentations and written materials for a variety of audiences and multiple venues.
  • Excellent listening skills and customer responsiveness are essential, continually incorporating feedback, ideas, and requests.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively recognize and resolve conflict.
  • Valid Oklahoma driver's license required to be maintained if using a personal or university vehicle to conduct university business.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends. A flexible work schedule may be required occasionally to meet client demands and needs.
  • Extensive day travel may be required at certain times of the year.
  • Normal office physical environment: ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
