About this role

What team will you be on?

The BlackRock aviation group has a unique business model that affords investors access to various investment strategies centered around mid-life commercial aircraft and seeks uncorrelated market returns by focusing investments primarily based on real time hard asset valuations reflected in aircraft trading, hard asset backed private & public debt markets & short term leasing strategies.

Why is your role important? 

The aviation group is looking for an individual that has a passion for the commercial aviation business, has basic knowledge of investment modeling via Excel & works well in a group setting. Candidate responsibilities include; Administering investments in the portfolio (legal, tax and accounting), managing existing investments in the portfolio, helping the group analyze prospective investments & establishing and maintaining both internal and external relationships.

What will this person be doing?

• Assist in analyzing new investment opportunities

• Assist with creating transaction analysis, summaries and investment memos

• Provide transaction information to internal groups including, legal, tax, fund admin to book transactions and performance in Aladdin

• Monitor and confirm receipt of lease rental income / maintenance reserves throughout the month

• Submit for processing and maintain details of asset related expenses (outgoing cashflows)

• Review and evaluate aircraft/engine transaction documents (i.e. lease agreements, purchase and sale agreements, trust agreements, etc.)

• Determine and implement the appropriate legal structure for acquisitions

• Coordinate with internal/external tax on deal specific jurisdiction and confirm applicable transfer tax/VAT associated with relevant transaction

What are we looking for?

• The candidate will have [1-3 years] experience preferably with an aviation background

• Quick learner, reliable, self-motivated

• Ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as work closely with fellow team members in a collaborative environment

• Flexibility to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment

• Strong organizational skills, communication skills and attention to detail

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
